The WIG

The wig ended a friendship and relationship. You may ask how so? I asked a young lady that I've been dating for 5 months to take her wig off and go out on a date. She acted as if I committed a criminal act. Maybe I just don't understand why it's so important to wear 24hrs a day. She told me it's a protective style. I asked protection from what? I then in turn got a slap on the face! I am no longer interested in any type of relationship with her ever again.
Am I too harsh?
Please explain to me why wearing someone else's hair is protection????

  1. I know some of the most Beautiful Women who wear wigs and weave. It's more common than you think Sir! May have been a little harsh, you may not have know what she went through to not have her hair. Women do it to have the feel of hair & still keep on their Beautiful tip that they want to have. A Woman appreciates a Man that loves her with or without the hair. Think about it... - JT

    1. We all have flaws so I get what you're saying. But understand this is not that case of hair loss due to illness. This is a woman that attached to the hair and the idea of its a standard of beauty. She has hair but she chooses to wear someone else hair due to vanity. Her hair isn't the silky texture that she desires so she buys it. Which maybe another post at a later date. Many of the bells and whistles that Hollywood has made black women feel compelled to have are her main focus in life. That has become her self-esteem and without them she is lifeless and bitter. It's a lot deeper than just weave/wig. When a woman feels that she can't be barefaced, color contact free,wig-free or spanxfree in the comfort of a lover.... HOUSTON we have a problem. She also spends thousands of dollars that she doesn't have to gain the eye of beholders that will only desire her for a few mins.....

I have two young daughters that would see and deal with this woman , I guess the caliber of woman I seek has been left in the 90's.

  2. Well...I can understand maybe not wanting a relationship anymore do to her physically slapping you but if you don't because of the wig situation, it may be a little harsh. I'm natural because I don't want to put chemicals in my hair but on the flip side, sometimes I may want to wear a weave or wig simply for the look. I'm a true believer of when you look good, you feel good. Not saying that you can only look good with straight, silky hair, but it's just preference. I can appreciate you wanting her to rock her own hair but if rocking a weave/wig makes her feel good about herself, let that girl rock her weave/wig.

    1. Thank you for your reply. But I have to ask...if feeling good involves things aren't humanly possible does that trump making it not a problem you have mentally? Feeling good is a mental state of mind....

Is having a hair that serious to make you feel incomplete not of having what the beauty world dictates. How do we explain loving yourself no matter what to you young girls... This is why they are dying to be HOLLYWOOD pretty. Butt injections, boob injections, ect....
